Post Programming Procedures:
Procedure “A”
To register keys after virginizing the ECU:
- Confirm that the ECU is in registration mode by checking the security light for a steady blink.
- Insert a key in the ignition without turning it. The security light should go solid and extinguish after a few seconds.
- Wait 15 seconds.
- Remove key from ignition.
- Repeat steps 2-4 for the second and third key to be programmed.
-
Confirm the security light has gone out. If it’s still illuminated, pump the brake pedal 5 times to exit registration mode.
Additional Notes:
- The first two keys introduced are programmed as Master keys and the third is a valet.
- If you’d like to program less than 3 keys, cycle the key(s) as outlined in steps 2-4 a few times. Some vehicles will REQUIRE 3 keys.
Procedure “B”
To register keys after virginizing the Immobilizer:
- Make sure there are no keys in the ignition
- Close all vehicle doors (do not lock them)
- Insert a key into the ignition without turning and leave in for 5 seconds
- Remove the key
-
Repeat steps 3-4 two more times with additional keys to close the registration mode.
(First two programmed will be masters, third will be valet)
After keys have been registered to the immobilizer box, the immobilizer will need to be resynchronized with the ECU for the vehicle to run again.
- Insert a master key into the ignition and turn to the ON position (do not crank!)
- Short terminals 4 and 13 in the OBD2 socket with a breakout box, resync dongle, or other probe and let sit for 30 minutes.
- Remove the tool used to short 4 and 13.
- Turn off the ignition and remove key.
-
Reinsert key and test for proper operation.
Additional Notes:
- The first two keys introduced are programmed as Master keys and the third is a valet.
- If you’d like to program less than 3 keys, turn the ignition on and off 5 times within 10 seconds and remove the key from the ignition. Some vehicles will REQUIRE 3 keys.
Procedure “C”
To register keys after virginizing the ECU:
- Confirm that the ECU is in registration mode by checking the that the security light is on solid.
- Insert a key in the ignition without turning it. The security light should extinguish momentarily and return to solid, indicating that the key was accepted into the system.
- Repeat step #2 3 more times. When the 4th key has been programmed, the learn mode is automatically closed.
Reinsert key and confirm that the vehicle will start.
Hope it helps!
